How much exercise do you need?

Our bodies are made to move a lot more than most us do. However, this ACSM report offers minimum guidelines for fitness in terms of quantity and quality. I would advise discovering exercise and physical activity that you like you doing so that it more easily becomes habit–after all the recommendations are for several hours per week. Also considering exercising with friends and family so it becomes a social activity as well.

Happy?

I am happiest when I am physically active outdoors, eating healthy and getting plenty of sleep. But sometimes life balance gets out of whack and we find ourselves stressed out. Sometimes it is our own brains that contribute to stress. Check out stressfree.org and the video on a “A Very Happy Brain.”
